The band was formed in Weil am Rhein as Knight of Demon in 1982, inspired by Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Motörhead and Venom. The lineup featured Ulf Kühne on vocals, Mike Sifringer on guitar, Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer on bass and Tommy Sandmann on drums. Kühne was kicked out of the band due to conflict with Sifringer over a girl.

Marcel „Schmier“ Schirmer (* 22. Dezember 1966) ist ein deutscher Sänger, Bassist und Musikproduzent . Werdegang. Schirmer stammt aus Efringen-Kirchen im Landkreis Lörrach und gehörte 1982 zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der Band Destruction. Zunächst war er nur Bassist und übernahm später auch den Gesang.
