Kaiju are the creatures you play as in the game. Players can purchase most kaiju using the Kaiju Universe's main currency, G-Cells. Some kaiju may require another specific kaiju, often at a specific level, among other requirements.
Vargoth (or Godzilla Ultima) was the most popular kaiju voted on to be added into the game. Vargoth is also a reference to Space Godzilla, who was never added to the game. Vargoth's design bears a resemblance to Haxorus from the Pokémon series, especially the long horns on the head.

Players can use different kaiju from the Godzilla franchise to fight other players or to destroy cities located around the map, and earn G-Cells, the main currency of the experience, and XP, which is used to level up your kaiju.
Tokyo is among the 7 islands within the Kaiju Universe. As the largest city-based island, it is a favored destination for players due to its expansive size and abundance of destructible buildings.
In Kaiju Universe, there is a special version of the game called the Tutorial. When players first join the game or if your not new you can access it through the settings. The Tutorial is designed to teach players how to play the game and understand its different mechanics.
