Serene and energetic, the little cottage perched high above Mirror Lake is muscularly geometric, seeming at once to hug the earth and burst forth from it. Framed by strong buttresses of local Wisconsin sandstone, this one-room house possesses a monumentality belying its size.
Nestled in the woods on the south shore of Mirror Lake, the cottage appears to emerge from the slope of the ground, its walls of randomly laid, thin sandstone punctuated by projecting slabs to suggest a natural outcropping.
The Seth Peterson Cottage is a two-room lakeside cottage located in Mirror Lake State Park outside Lake Delton, Wisconsin, United States. It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1958.
