The site is in The Negeb between Kadesh and Bered (Genesis 16:14). Rowland identifies the well with the modern `Ain Moilaihhi, circa 50 miles South of Beersheba and 12 miles West of `Ain Kadis.

15 de nov. de 2014 · Kadesh in Transjordan. The story of Hagar’s pregnancy and escape (Gen. 16:1–14) gives us helpful information about Beer-lahai-roi. According to that story, that spring/well is located between Kadesh and Bared (16:14), on the road leading to Egypt (16:7) [4] and there is a spring in the site (16:7). [5] .
The well Beer-lahai-roi was "between Kadesh and Bered." The Onkelos Targum renders it Chaghra', which is the usual equivalent of Shur, while the Jerusalem Targum renders it Chalutsah, which is also Shur ( Exodus 15:22 ).
That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered. So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name.
Why the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers. (14) Beer-lahai-roi. --That is, Well of the living-seeing (of God), the well where God has been seen, and the beholder still lives.
Behold, it is between Kadesh (vide Genesis 14:7) and Bered. Of uncertain situation; but the well has probably been discovered in Ain Kades (called by the Arabs Moilahi Hagar ), to the south of Beersheba, and about twelve miles from Kadesh (cf. Keil in lees ).
