A Casualty Collection Point (CCP) serves as a centralised and secure location for the treatment of casualties. The primary aim is to coordinate care efficiently, making use of all available resources to ensure that casualties are ready to return to action as quickly as possible.
The Casualty Collection Points (CCPs) should be established reasonably close to the fight where casualties are likely to occur, be near natural “lines of drift”, provide relative cover and concealment from the enemy whenever possible, and have access to evacuation routes.
Principles: Establish tactical supremacy and defer in depth medical interventions if engaged in ongoing direct threat (e.g. active fire fight, unstable building collapse, dynamic post-explosive scenario, etc.). Threat mitigation techniques will minimize risk to casualties and the providers.
