Nabaneeta Dev Sen (Nôbonita Deb Sen; 13 January 1938 – 7 November 2019) was an Indian writer and academic. After studying arts and comparative literature, she moved to the US where she studied further.

She was 81 and is survived by two daughters - writer Antara and actress Nandana. Winner of Sahitya Akademi award and Padma Shri, Dev Sen was suffering from cancer for a long time.
Nabaneeta Dev Sen is an award-winning Indian poet, novelist and academic. Born to a Bengali family in Calcutta, she graduated from Presidency College and Jadavpur University, eventually earning a master’s from Harvard and a Ph.D. from Indiana University.
Nabaneeta Dev Sen (1938 – 2019) is one of the most beloved, versatile and prolific Bengali writers of all time. The poems have been translated by her daughter, Nandana Dev Sen.
