Barbara of Hesse, Duchess of Württemberg-Mömpelgard (8 April 1536 – 8 June 1597) [better source needed] was a German noblewoman, and the wife of Count George I of Württemberg-Mömpelgard. Her second husband was Daniel, Count of Waldeck .
Barbara was a daughter of Philipp I, Landgrave of Hesse and his legitimate wife Christina of Saxony. She died on 8 June 1597 at Waldeck Castle, aged 61. Among her numerous descendants are the current Spanish and British Royal Families.
When Princess Barbara von Hessen was born on 8 April 1536, in Kassel, Hesse, Germany, her father, Philipp I. von Hessen, was 31 and her mother, Christine von Sachsen, was 30. She married Count George I von Württemberg-Mömpelgard on 10 September 1555, in Holy Roman Empire.
