Harlem Désir, né le 25 novembre 1959 à Paris, est un homme politique français. Il se fait d'abord connaître dans les années 1980 en tant que militant associatif et président de SOS Racisme : il est alors particulièrement médiatisé en tant que figure de l'antiracisme en France.
Harlem Jean-Philippe Désir ( French: [aʁ.lɛm de.ziʁ]; born 25 November 1959) is a French politician. First widely known as a community activist and as the first president of SOS Racisme in the 1980s, he subsequently entered politics in the 1990s, first in Génération Écologie then in the Socialist Party where he rose to the rank of First Secretary.
Harlem Désir was appointed as the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media on 18 July 2017 for a period of three years. Previously, Désir was French Minister of State for European Affairs, attached to the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, since April 2014.
