In the five year span from 1984’s ‘War And Pain’ debut to 1989’s ‘Nothingface’, Voivod forged a defiant progressive metal sound that they would expand upon with later albums and ensure that they are one of the most exhilarating metal bands in existence today.
Biografía. Influida por la NWOBHM y la Guerra fría, su música post-apocalíptica después cambiaría a temas de ciencia ficción. Voïvod se volvió bastante popular con el lanzamiento del álbum Nothingface de 1989, el cual presenta una versión de "Astronomy Domine" de Pink Floyd (de su álbum The Piper at the Gates of Dawn ).
Voivod is a Canadian heavy metal band from Jonquière, Quebec (now Saguenay, Quebec). The original line-up consisted of vocalist Denis "Snake" Bélanger , guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour , drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and bassist Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault .
