Makoto Wada (和田誠, Wada Makoto) (10 April 1936 – 7 October 2019) was a Japanese illustrator, essayist, and film director.
Makoto Wada is a veteran game designer for Nintendo. He is mostly notorious for creating characters such as Little Mac and Mike Jones, as well as for writing the script for various titles of the Animal Crossing franchise, among other games.

Makoto Wada was a Japanese illustrator, essayist and film director from Osaka, Japan. After graduating Tama Art University, he established himself as a graphic designer. As an illustrator, he drew many cartoons and caricatures for Shinichi Hoshi and Haruki Murakami.
