Learie Nicholas Constantine, Baron Constantine, Kt, MBE (21 September 1901 – 1 July 1971) was a Trinidadian cricketer, lawyer and politician who served as Trinidad and Tobago's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and became the UK's first black peer.

In 1928, a man from Trinidad, called Learie Constantine, visited England on his second cricket tour of the British Isles. Learie must have impressed coaches up in the sleepy East Lancashire town of Nelson because they invited him to come and play for them on a professional basis the following year.
