Nikolaus Balkenhol –conocido como Klaus Balkenhol– (Velen, 6 de diciembre de 1939) es un jinete alemán que compitió en la modalidad de doma. Su hija Anabel también compite en el mismo deporte.
Klaus Balkenhol (born 6 December 1939 in Velen) is a German equestrian and Olympic champion. He won a gold medal in team dressage at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona with the team from Germany.
Klaus Balkenhol ist Gründungsmitglied der 2006 gegründeten Xenophon e. V. – Gesellschaft für Erhalt und Förderung der klassischen Reitkultur. Er war zunächst zweiter Vorsitzender, später erster Vorsitzender. Im November 2012 legte er den Vorsitz aus Altersgründen nieder.

Von 1996 bis 2000 war Klaus Balkenhol Bundestrainer der deutschen Dressur-Equipe, mit der zweimal Olympisches Mannschaftsgold gewann. 2001 übernahm er das Amt des National Coach der US-amerikanischen Dressurreiter, das er bis 2008 innehatte.
