Timothy M. Caro (born 1951) is a British evolutionary ecologist known for his work on conservation biology, animal behaviour, anti-predator defences in animals, and the function of zebra stripes. He is the author of several textbooks on these subjects.
Biography. Research interests. Projects and supervisions. Publications. Teaching. I study the evolution of animal coloration in particular mammals. I am also interested in trying to solve conservatiion problems in the tropics, particularly in Africa.
Prof Tim Caro. Research. I am interested in the biological principles underlying the evolution of coloration in animals, and in understanding the ecological circumstances in which different types of external coloration arise in nature. Much of my research involves field work on three continents.
