" Voodoo Chile " ( / tʃaɪl / CHAIL) is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and recorded in 1968 for the third Jimi Hendrix Experience album Electric Ladyland. It is based on the Muddy Waters blues song "Rollin' Stone", but with original lyrics and music.

Electric Ladyland is the third and final studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, released in October 1968. A double album, it was the only record from the Experience with production solely credited to Hendrix.
This is a great insight into the making of Electric Ladyland. It was put together here in the early 70's with Jimi and some elites of rock such as Steve Winwood and Jack Cassidy. There were several other. The album include Voodoo Chile and Crosstown Traffic as well as several other innovative songs.
