Guitarist Simon Mawby was briefly a member of the House of Love in the early 1990s. The Woodentops returned to live performances in September 2006. In October 2009, they performed in a special concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London's South Bank.

21 de oct. de 2018 · Initially the group was Rolo McGinty on guitar and vocals, Alice Thompson on keyboards, Simon Mawby on guitar, James Rawlings on bass and Paul Hookham on drums. Their early influences of Can, Kraftwerk, the Feelies and Suicide were mixed with rockabilly and strummed acoustic guitars, producing a kind of rhythmic beat music.
Giant is the debut album by British rock band The Woodentops . The album reached #35 on the UK albums chart, spending 4 weeks on the chart. [4] The album featured in the 1986 end of year critics polls in the NME and Melody Maker at numbers 36 and 16 respectively. [5]
