Akinwande Oluwole Babatunde Soyinka, conocido como Wole Soyinka ( Abeokuta, 13 de julio de 1934), es un escritor nigeriano en idioma inglés, 1 el primer africano en conseguir el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1986.
Soyinka has been a strong critic of successive Nigerian (and African at large) governments, especially the country's many military dictators, as well as other political tyrannies, including the Mugabe regime in Zimbabwe.

Wole Soyinka is a Nigerian writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986 for his plays, novels and poems. He is influenced by African mythology, especially the Yoruba god Ogun, and by European drama, such as Synge, Euripides and Brecht.
