Chen Yuan (Chinese: 陈元, born in January 1945) is a Chinese economist who is the current chairman of the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC). He was previously the chairman of the China Development Bank from March 1998 to April 2013.
Professor Yuan Chen received a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and a Ph.D. from Yale University. He was an Assistant and an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University Singapore from 2005 to 2015. He joined the University of Sydney in 2015.

I haven’t been able to establish when and where, but it was probably the last such examination to have been held in Canton.
