Anthony La Russa Jr. ( / ləˈruːsə /; born October 4, 1944) is an American former professional baseball player, coach, and manager. His MLB career has spanned from 1963 to 2022, in several roles. He is the former manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago White Sox.

2 de oct. de 2022 · SAN DIEGO -- Tony La Russa’s managerial retirement was announced on Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field, ending the Hall of Famer’s second tenure in charge of the White Sox. La Russa will depart after two seasons back in Chicago and with one year left on his contract.

Born Oct. 4, 1944, in Tampa, Fla., La Russa grew up on the ballfield in Florida’s year-round warm weather. He was pursued as an infield prospect by most of the 20 big league teams, and signed as a $50,000 bonus baby with the Kansas City Athletics immediately following his high school graduation.
