On this CD we have included not only Frank's 1946 recordings, but also his 1944/5 and 1947 recordings so that you can hear the build up to his peak of popularity. We calculate that Frank had eleven entries on America's pop music charts in 1945.
These recordings were made between 1944 and 1947. Admittedly a few tracks are swingers – like the opening Saturday Night (is the Loneliest Night of the Week) which includes a jazzy trumpet solo. And Five Minutes More has an easy swing, with a big band in the background.
