The title track with Mike Oldfield's guitar accompaniment and Robert Wyatt's wracked harmonies would become a template for Ayers subsequent '70s output. [2] The album opens with "There Is Loving/Among Us" accompanied by David Bedford 's dramatic orchestral arrangement.
It is a warm-hearted hymn to friendship, for which Kevin is joined by his old colleague from Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt, in the unforgettable chorus: "So let's drink some wine / and have a good time / but if you really want to come through / let the good times have you." Ayers' deep voice and Wyatt's high-pitched treble fit each other perfectly.
This has Kevin’s old Soft Machine band mate on backing vocals, Robert Wyatt. Hearing Robert on anything is always a treat. Mike Oldfield also makes a return for some superb guitar work. Many fans consider this song to be one of the best Kevin has recorded.
