Invitation transcription This is Michael Brecker’s solo on Invitation, from guitarist Jack Wilkins’ album “You Can’t Live Without It” (later released on CD as “Merge”), and in my opinion it’s one of the most astonishing jazz performances ever recorded.

Brecker was born on November 27, 1945, in the Philadelphia suburb of Cheltenham to a musical family.
The band's all-star cast included Randy Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Toots Thielemans, Peter Erskine, Othello Molineaux, and Don Alias.

Invitation (Live) Jaco’s Word of Mouth big band recorded live in concert in Japan in 1982. Invitation was the U.S. release through Warner Bros., which included 9 tracks. A Japanese 2-LP release (Twins I & II) contained 13 tracks.
