Elvin Ray Jones (Pontiac, Míchigan; 9 de septiembre de 1927-Englewood, Nueva Jersey; 18 de mayo de 2004) fue uno de los bateristas de jazz más influyentes de la era post-bop. With Tyner’s crashing, fourths-based chords and Jones’ wild, polyrhythmic drumming, the band is generally associated with burning modal jazz.
