David Knights (David John Knights, 28 de junio de 1945 en Islington, Londres) es un músico británico, popular por haber sido el bajista de la banda de rock progresivo Procol Harum. Tocó el bajo en el reconocido y exitoso sencillo " A Whiter Shade of Pale ", del álbum debut de la agrupación.
Reid said bassist David Knights had also been chosen in a similar manner to Fisher, in that he was right for the group "as a person", and had an original playing style. Drummer Bobby Harrison completed the line-up, after the group had tried out up to nine drummers by this point.

Procol Harum were an English progressive rock band from Southend-on-Sea. Formed in April 1967, the group originally consisted of vocalist and pianist Gary Brooker, guitarist Ray Royer, bassist David Knights, keyboardist Matthew Fisher, drummer Bobby Harrison and lyricist Keith Reid.

David is the Chief Executive Officer at Knights. A corporate lawyer and former manager of a private equity fund, David joined Knights in 2011 with the vision to transform the business into the UK's number one regional professional services business.
Dave Knights, Procol Harum's first bass-player, was later involved with the 1974 album with Ruby called Red Crystal Fantasies. This was on Chrysalis, produced at Trident Studios by Ken Scott, of stitching-together In Held 'Twas in I fame.
