Deborah Ann Dingell (/ ˈ d ɪ ŋ ɡ əl /; née Insley; November 23, 1953) is an American politician who is a member of the Democratic Party who has been the U.S. representative for Michigan's 6th congressional district since 2015 (known as the 12th congressional district until 2023).
In Congress, it’s my priority to be a voice for the Midwest on issues that matter most to working families. We must all work together to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare, grow manufacturing, support seniors and veterans, and protect the environment including the Great Lakes.
An active civic and community leader, Dingell is a recognized national advocate for women and children. She successfully fought to have women included in federally funded health research and advocated for greater awareness of women’s health issues overall, including breast cancer and heart health.
