Times of Tribulation (Revelation 6-11) >Seven Seals >2nd seal >The Red Horse. We now look at the second horse and its rider among “the four horses of the apocalypse”. This is the red horse whose rider has a sword. In Scene 2, the Lamb opens the second seal.
2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. 3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one.
23 de mar. de 2020 · With this being a rider that is riding on a red horse, with the historical context that we know, war seems to be the appropriate classification of what is gong on as war often leads to sinful behavior such as murder and violence.
The rider on the red horse responds to the command to come and receives permission to take peace from the earth. Apparently, a measure of international peace will prevail at the beginning of the tribulation.
Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
His horse's colour is red (πυρρός, purrhós from πῦρ, fire), and in some translations, the colour is specifically a "fiery" red. The colour red, as well as the rider's possession of a great sword (μάχαιρα, mákhaira), suggests blood that is to be spilled.
