  1. The far field region is the most important, as this determines the antenna's radiation pattern. Since antennas are used to communicate wirelessly from long distances, this is the region of operation for most antennas.

  2. The near field and far field are regions of the electromagnetic (EM) field around an object, such as a transmitting antenna, or the result of radiation scattering off an object. Non-radiative near-field behaviors dominate close to the antenna or scatterer, while electromagnetic radiation far-field behaviors predominate at greater distances.

  3. 1 Farfield Boundary Conditions The purpose of far field boundary conditions is to represent the state of the flow at large distances from the source of disturbance. This is commonly expressed as the flow is being uniform at infinity. However, large outer boundary distances are difficult to model.

  4. In September 2023, a team of scientists quantified, for the first time, all nine processes that regulate the stability and resilience of the Earth system. These nine planetary boundaries were first proposed by former centre director Johan Rockström and a group of 28 internationally renowned scientists in 2009.

  5. The boundary between these two regions depends on the geometric dimensions of the source and the emitted by the source dominant wavelength λ. In the region of near field of an antenna the angular field distribution is dependent upon the distance from the antenna.
