His composition Monochromatic Light (Afterlife) was honored as a Finalist for the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Music, and has been recorded with the Houston Chamber Choir and DaCamera for release in 2024.

Sorey has performed nationally and internationally with his own ensembles as well as with other artists such as Roscoe Mitchell, Myra Melford, Anthony Braxton, Julia Bullock, Jason Moran, George Lewis, Claire Chase, Steve Coleman, Vijay Iyer, and John Zorn, among many others.

26 de jun. de 2024 · Tying all this music together was the extraordinary percussionist Tyshawn Sorey. Making up the apex of this particular prism, he fed all the musicians a versatile percussive throughline that built stylistic coherence into nine disparate works. His own untitled work was one of the best in the show.
