It was reported that on December 27, 2020, Nick McGlashan died in Nashville, Tennessee, at the young age of 33. McGlashan worked on the Summer Bay fishing vessel and was a mainstay of the Discovery reality series from 2013 to 2020.

Native to India and South Asia, it is a popular aquarium fish, frequently sold under the trade name zebra danio (and thus often called a "tropical fish" although it is both tropical and subtropical).
