I just listened to the Peel sessions recording after decades. It is exceptional - live and pretty clean, my favorite kind of JD performance. I listened to this band incessantly in the dark days of my teens and going back to this is like doing powerful drugs.

Shortly after the additions of Martyn Casey and keyboardist Jill Birt, the band recorded their 1983 debut, Treeless Plain, for the Hot label, followed a year later by the EP Raining Pleasure.
13 de jun. de 2024 · Through this thread I've just discovered a load of Stump Peel Sessions I have never heard before. I bought at the time the original 4 track EP from '86, but had no idea they recorded three more sessions; another '86 sesh and 87', '88 ones for the show.
