They named themselves after the movie musical Babes in Toyland —one of Barbero’s childhood favorites. After a few months, Russell and Holetz left the band.

Released in 1992 as part of their album “Fontanelle,” this song was written by Kat Bjelland, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band.
22 de jun. de 2024 · Love was also cast in Cox's Straight to Hell. Neither picture brought Love the stardom that she craved. Love then relocated to Minneapolis, MN, and formed the all-female post-punk group Babes in Toyland with Kat Bjelland. Bjelland eventually tossed her out of the band.
29 de jun. de 2024 · Like L7's Jennifer Finch, Babes in Toyland singer Kat Bjelland played with Courtney Love in Pagan Babies, also known as Sugar Babydoll. She popularised the 'kinderwhore' look, which paired traditionally feminine clothes and accessories with messy hair and make-up.
