If anything Akaza is the one that wants the distance because it’s game over for him if he gets close to Gyomei who is the strongest hashira. Both characters do have range, Gyomei with his weapon and Akaza is obvious. However, Akaza can’t do much upclose despite his martial arts background because Gyomei is just insanely strong.
Even though akaza isn't faster than kokushibo he can just use compass Or maybe use attacks like disorder to deflect moons away if douma somehow ties kokushibo in his ice vines akaza can just use annihilation to implicit damage. Douma has bodhisattva and clones of same skills as him plus he can just use some ice attacks to hold kokushibo off.
It's been a few months since I've seen the full fight. but with the recent reairing of the Mugen train arc for S2, I kinnda forgot just how well animated this fight was. The fact that 99% of this comment section is just r/savevideo...is amazing. one of the best fights i ever seen.

It's even implied that while Akaza has never seen a human with no battle spirit, he has met a demon with such a characteristic. I believe this demon to be Doma. It was most likely this same situation that allowed Doma to win against Akaza in their blood battle.
17 de nov. de 2021 · Akaza has killed one of the most fav character in most people s opinion, but still, almost everyone (including me) loves him because he s amazing. After his flashback Akaza instantly became my favorite Upper Moon and one of my favorite characters period. The way he went in the end really messed me up, too.
11 de feb. de 2023 · Kokushibo overpowers both of then in solo but if they are teaming then he has too much to deal with. 5 Douma clones (as strong as Douma stated by himself) and Akaza himself. Akaza's compass needle would also help out a lot. Plus Douma's vines to grab Kokushibo. Not to mention Douma's buddha statue.
27 de ago. de 2019 · fun fact, akaza doesn’t eat woman. he only feasts on the strong. The only reason why Doma is rank 2 is because he gluttonies on pregnant women. Akazas battle compass is also a tribute to his lover. It’s a snowflake that his wife would wear, and the fireworks was a tribute to him taking her out to see them.

26 de sept. de 2020 · Akaza has “上弦” on his right eye, meaning “Upper Rank” (referring to the fact he’s an Upper Moon) and “参” on his left eye, meaning “three” (referring to his Upper Moon/Rank Position no. which is 3). Fyi, all Upper Moons have “上弦” as well as their respective numbers from ranks1-6 on their eyes.
