The HE Bates novel, published in 1958 and set in rural Kent, became a hit ITV series in the early 1990s with leading roles played by David Jason, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Pam Ferris and Philip Franks.
Pop Larkin, who makes a fortune selling scrap metal but has never paid income tax, lives in ‘perfick’ rural bliss with his generous-hearted wife and six children. Then a young tax inspector, Mr Charlton turns up one hot May afternoon…
Hace 5 días · The pilot event will take place on Monday, July 1, and will include tickets to the opening night of our comic play, “The Darling Buds of May” by H.E. Bates. The event starts at 6pm in the theatre bar, allowing an hour for networking, drinks, and the backstage tour.
