9 de jun. de 2024 · General Information. Directions: From Salida, CO, travel west for 5 miles to Poncha Springs, CO then continue west on Highway 50 for 6 miles to County Road 240. Turn right on CR 240 and stay on this road for 3 miles to the Angel of Shavano campground.
13 de jun. de 2024 · Route: Angel of Shavano. Posted On: 5/6/2024, By: rcandell2. Info: Great day up on Shavano with decent snow conditions above 11,000 ft. I left the trailhead around 6:15am, the trail is mostly dry for the first 2 miles of the route and the snow starts around 10,800'.
10 de jun. de 2024 · Ascended Shavano via east slopes, traction/floatation not needed. You can also traverse to Tabeguache without traction but I found the route easier with microspikes in the snow. Bring an axe if you want to glisade the Angel back down, but the tree fall at the base of the Angel kinda sucks.
