22 de jun. de 2024 · But it still came as a surprise when blues/Americana rocker Dave Alvin (ex-Blasters) teamed up with folk/country veteran Jimmie Dale Gilmore (The Flatlanders) in 2018 for the appropriately monikered Downey to Lubbock (their home towns) album and subsequent tour.

The pair is still traveling down the musical highways that stretches between Alvin’s California and Gilmore’s Texas, spicing up their tunes with ingredients from honky tonk, blues, and country.

Through the '90s, he recorded at a relaxed pace, and after years of keeping a low profile outside the Southwest, in 2017 he set out on tour with roots rock veteran Dave Alvin.
