Michel Fokine spent only half an hour to make The Dying Swan for Anna Pavlova in 1905. The fact that they had danced together for years helped.

14 de jun. de 2024 · In the company’s early seasons the principal choreographer was Michel Fokine, who staged a number of ballets that became classics, notably Les Sylphides (1909), The Firebird (1910), and Petrouchka (1911). Eventually Diaghilev’s encouragement of Nijinsky as a budding choreographer soured his relationship with Fokine.

Hace 4 días · To present these works Diaghilev recruited the choreographer Michel Fokine, the designer Léon Bakst and the dancer Vaslav Nijinsky. Diaghilev's intention, however, was to produce new works in a distinctively 20th-century style, and he was looking for fresh compositional talent.
