Rabindranath Tagore (født 6. mai 1861 i Calcutta i Britisk India, død 7. august 1941 samme sted) var en indisk (hinduistisk) filosof, nasjonalist og forfatter som ble tildelt nobelprisen i litteratur i 1913. Tagore skrev tekst og melodi til Indias nasjonalhymne Jana-Gana-Mana og Bangladesh nasjonalsang Amar Sonar Bangla.

Rabindranath Tagore nació el 6 de mayo de 1861 en Calcuta, India, en el seno de una familia de brahmanes rica e instruida. Tagore fue el menor de los catorce hijos de Debendranath Tagore y Sarada Ravat. Con 17 años publicó su primer libro de poemas. Pasó algún tiempo en Inglaterra (1878) donde cursó estudios de Derecho.
