Psalm 41 concludes the first of the five books of the Psalms. Each book concludes with a similar praise for God in the final verse. Here, David turned to God when he faced both treacherous friends and a sickness. He relied upon God’s Covenant promises to Moses in the Torah to trust in God’s faithfulness. Some believe that the Covenant promises of the Old Testament were limited to the Jews.
