Jean-Léon Gérôme (Vesoul, 11 de mayo de 1824-París, 10 de enero de 1904) fue un pintor y escultor francés del estilo conocido actualmente como academicismo, cuyas obras son, por lo general, de tema histórico, mitológico, orientalismo, retratos y otros temas, con lo que lleva el academicismo tradicional a un clímax artístico.
