His dad, Bob Irwin, was a wildlife expert and his mum Lyn was a wildlife rehabilitator. Because of their passion for nature, the family relocated from Melbourne, Victoria to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 1970 to start the Beerwah Reptile Park.
