Los Kaiju son criaturas de naturaleza altamente tóxica y han sido categorizados en la "Escala Serizawa". Cada Kaiju se clasifica en cinco categorías diferentes. Las Categorías I y II representan las más débiles de los Kaiju, mientras que las Categorías III a V son las más fuertes.
