Fearing that the Son may be unstoppable, the Daughter does the forbidden by taking Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Altar of Mortis, wherein is kept the Dagger of Mortis, a weapon capable of killing a Force-wielder.
Son then turns and prepares to plunge the dagger into his father, but Daughter steps in front of her father, taking the blade instead, she is mortally wounded. Screaming with sudden anguish, Son flees the scene as Anakin rushes to Ahsoka's side, only to find her eyes completely rolled back.
During the Clone Wars, the Father guided Anakin Skywalker to Mortis in order to test the Jedi Knight's abilities and concluded that he was indeed the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force. Skywalker declined the Father's invitation to remain on Mortis, however.
During the Clone Wars, news reached the Father that the Chosen One, a prophesied figure in Jedi legend who would bring balance to the Force, had been found. The Father lured the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker , to Mortis, which intrigued both the Son and the Daughter.

"Altar of Mortis" is the sixteenth episode of the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is the sixtieth episode of the series overall. It was released on February 4, 2011 on Cartoon Network.
