Hayato Ichimonji (一文字 隼人,Ichimonji Hayato) is one of the two main protagonists of Kamen Rider. A freelance photographer who was turned into a cyborg by Shocker to defeat Takeshi Hongo, Hayato is later saved by the former and takes his place to defend Japan as the Kamen Rider (仮面ライダー,Kamen Raidā, "Masked Rider").

On October 10, 2021, the fictional birth date of Hayato Ichimonji, the official Shin Kamen Rider Twitter unveiled another promotional poster which showed that Kamen Rider No.2 would be in the upcoming film. A few months later, actor Tasuku Emoto was cast into the role.
