Family Plot is a 1976 American black comedy thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock in his final directing role. It was based on Victor Canning's 1972 novel The Rainbird Pattern, which Ernest Lehman adapted for the screen.

La trama. La señora Julia Rainbird (Cathleen Nesbit) guarda fuertes sentimientos de culpa porque, hace 40 años, hizo que una hermana -que quedó embarazada estando soltera- abandonara a su hijo al momento de nacer, y fallecida ella, ahora quiere encontrarlo para convertirlo en heredero.
Fake medium Madam Blanche and her taxi driver actor boyfriend George make a living by scamming people with her phony powers. They are hired by an aging widow, Julia Rainbird, to find her nephew who was given away for adoption many years earlier to avoid a family scandal.
"Family Plot" is, incredibly, Hitchcock's 53d film in a career that reaches back almost 50 years. And it's a delight for two contradictory reasons: because it's pure Hitchcock, with its meticulous construction and attention to detail, and because it's something new for Hitchcock -- a macabre comedy, essentially.
