The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary and private university in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Joseph Jessing in 1888 and was granted the status of a Pontifical College in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII, making it the only pontifical seminary in North America.
School of Theology & the Configuration Stage. Formation of seminarians in Configuration Stage takes place within the School of Theology. Priests and professors strive to provide a thorough and integral theological formation with a pastoral emphasis.
After more than a century, the Josephinum, is the only pontifical college in the United States, under the direct supervision of the Holy See 's Congregation for Catholic Education, and was accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in 1970, and by the Higher Learning Commission in 1976.
Columbus Classical Academy (CCA) is a private classical school in central Ohio, serving grades K-9, adding a grade each year through grade twelve. CCA is a Hillsdale College Curriculum School.
Founded in 1888, the Josephinum was granted pontifical status in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII and is the only pontifical seminary outside of Italy. The Apostolic Nuncio to the United States serves as its Chancellor and the institution is governed by a Board of Trustees.
