Stormtroopers of Death (abbreviated to S.O.D.) was an American crossover thrash band formed in New York City in 1985. They are credited as being amongst the first groups to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal into a style often referred to as crossover thrash.

Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.) was a side gig started by Scott Ian of Anthrax and include fellow band mate, Charlie Benante on drums and bassist, Dan Liker from Nuclear Assault. The band was an outlet of sorts for Ian’s hardcore/crossover affinity to which they included a heavy dose of fun and humorous anecdotes.

Parts of the songs "March of the S.O.D.", "Milano Mosh", "Chromatic Death" and "Sargent D and the S.O.D." were used for commercial breaks of MTV 's Headbangers Ball in the early 1990s.
