George Pierre Seurat fue un pintor francés del siglo XIX y fundador del neoimpresionismo o puntillismo. Pintaba predominantemente paisajes y escenas de la naturaleza usando pequeños puntos de color puro en lugar de mezclarlos, siguiendo la teoría del color de Michel Eugène Chevreul.
