Sidney David Drell (September 13, 1926 – December 21, 2016) was an American theoretical physicist and arms control expert. At the time of his death, he was professor emeritus at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) and senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.

22 de dic. de 2016 · Sidney Drell came to Stanford in 1951 after obtaining his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois in 1949. In 1956, Sidney was hired as a Professor of Physics at SLAC, as well as serving as Deputy Director of SLAC from 1969 to 1998.
Sidney Drell was a senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution and a professor of theoretical physics emeritus at SLAC, where he served as deputy director from 1969 until retiring in 1998.
