Georg Michaelis (8 September 1857 – 24 July 1936) was the chancellor of the German Empire for a few months in 1917. He was the first (and the only one of the German Empire) chancellor not of noble birth to hold the office.

Georg Michaelis is usually portrayed as the politically failed chancellor of 1917. His resignation after fourteen weeks in office was the first overthrow of a Reich chancellor initiated by Reichstag political parties.

Georg Michaelis was a Prussian civil servant who became the German chancellor in 1917, but resigned after a few weeks due to conflicts with Reichstag parties. He also played a key role in the war food economy and the peace negotiations, and later became a senior president of Pomerania.
