German experimental musician (born 3 February 1947, Hamburg). He began recording sound experiments in 1965 with electronic musical instruments, synthesizers and tape loops. In the 1970s he met producer Okko Bekker who has been credited as producer on Tietchens' releases ever since.
Asmus Tietchens is one of the most underrated eletronic music pioneers in mid 60's. He starts his career making concrete music and experimenting with electronics until Peter Baumann (from Tangerine Dream) compromises with Asmus to produce an album.

On this new release, everything that reverts to musique concrète is removed, and shimmering sounds is what remains.
