Alan Davey (born 11 September 1963) is an English musician, best known as the former bassist with the rock band Hawkwind. He is the original bass player in Gunslinger which started in 1979 and is still the bass player and vocalist for Gunslinger.

Alan Davey was the bassist for Hawkwind from 1985 to 1996 and then again from 2000 to 2007. He is the brains behind this band called Hawkestrel, where he provides most of the vocals and instrumentals of the project.
Alan Davey, a.k.a. "Bass Assassin #2 (nickname given to Alan by Lemmy Kilmister) is best known for being one of the keynote, and longtime members of the legendary band Hawkwind, but he began his musical career in 1979 with a band he and his cousin started from the ground up, called Gunslinger.
The Third longest-serving member of Hawkwind, Alan Davey (born 1963, England) was recruited by Dave Brock in 1984. He would go on to play and record with the band for 22 years, during which he also contributed to Bedouin and black metal band The Meads Of Asphodel.

2 de feb. de 2024 · Alan Davey is best known as the former bassist of Hawkwind. He is now the bass player/vocalist for Gunslinger as well as Psychedelic Warlords and Thunor. Also in The Meads of Asphodel between 2003-2015. Davey formed his first band, Gunslinger, in 1979 with his cousin Nigel Potter.
